- Join us for archery practice, plenty of loaner bows and arrows are available.
Caer Gwyn Rapier Practice and Arts & Sciences Gathering — Tuesdays 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, Illini Union Room 104,
- Join us for historical combat lessons and practice focusing on the 16th-17th century rapier. Group and personal instructors, limited loaner gear is available.
- Come and share the skills of making the everyday items and fine arts of the Medieval and Renaissance time periods at our weekly Arts & Sciences gathering.
SCA Events in the Region
Baroness Wars 10 — Friday September 8 to Sunday September 10, Christian County Fairgrounds, 1716 W. Spresser St. Taylorville, IL 62568
- A weekend event that showcases nearly every activity that the SCA has to offer. This large event has a low-key Ren Faire feel, and usually draws about 200 attendees.
- Scheduled activities include: Arts & Sciences classes, Craftspersons’ Green, Archery, Thrown Weapons, Rapier Tournaments, and the Armored Combat Tournament of Chivalry.
- Friday night will feature a special tournament of sponsored teams consisting of both Armored and Rapier combatants. Come and see some of our local group members at their best!!
- Camping available all weekend
- Open grills Friday night, breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and dinner Saturday night all included FREE (but donations gladly accepted)
